[Review] Mizon Snail Repair Intensive Ampoule

The Mizon Snail Repair Intensive Ampoule has a transparent, watery consistency that absorbed quickly into the skin, leaving my skin moist, smooth and refreshed. Since it is free of parabens and fragrances, it felt extremely comfortable on the skin and left a non-sticky finish. I usually apply ampoules in this sequence at night – wash, tone, ampoule, essence/serum, moisturiser, spot treatment. 2-3 drops usually does the work, and it is a good base to work on before slathering on the moisturiser.

[Review] COSRX Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser

The COSRX Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser is a mildly acidic gel cleanser at ph5, which claims to gently deep cleanse the skin to remove excess sebum and dead skin cells while maintaining skin pH balance. It contains Betaine Salicylate, a natural BHA exfoliator that unclogs pores, tea tree oil that controls oil, reduces acne, blemishes and improves complexion, as well as citric acid (AHA) for anti-aging benefits. This cleanser seems to be big on plant-based extracts, containing essences from lotus leaf, evening primrose and Japanese cedar leaf, which aids to naturally purify, hydrate, and brighten skin all at once.

HOLIKA HOLIKA Pig Nose Clear Blackhead 3-Step Kit Review

The first time I saw the Holika Holika Pig Nose Clear Black Head 3-Step Kit, I was really doubtful despite the ultra-cute packaging. Next, wet your nose thoroughly before sticking on Strip 2 to ensure that it sticks evenly and closely to your skin. The strip will not work perfectly if there is insufficient contact area. After 15 minutes, ensure that the strip hardened enough before removing it. Note that the strip will not work if it had not dried completely. In my case, I saw many of the mini and medium-sized blackheads stuck on the strip upon removal-

Innis Free No Sebum Mineral Powder Review

During summer, foundations always tend to break down a few hours after application due to the humid weather. Hence, it is always important to apply a loose powder or make up spray to finish the make up and create a barrier to prevent oxidation and discoloration. Here, I have tried the ever-popular Innisfree No Sebum... Continue Reading →

[Review] Dr. G Green Mild Up Sun SPF 50 PA+++

The Dr. G Green Mild Up Sun SPF50 PA++++ caught my eye for its water-based formulation and extremely friendly ingredients after a quick check at COSDNA. It primarily uses plant-based extracts and 100% Mineral or physical sun filters Zinc Oxide and Titanium Dioxide to effectively block out UVA/UVB sun rays.  While it contains certain silicones and alcohols, the amount was much lower and fared comparatively better to other sunblocks in terms of acne and irritant levels. It also contains Pathenol to strengthen skin’s protective barrier and has an unique anti-pollution formula to shield against blue light and environmental stressors.

[Review] Banila Clean it Zero Make Up Remover

The Banila Clean it Zero is a sherbet cleansing balm that claims to be an all-in-one cleansing step to remove make up completely, as well as clearing pore debris and rehydrating the skin. For light make up days, I took a dime size amount with the spatula provided, and applied it to a dry face, massaging it in an outward circular motion. The sherbet cleanser had a wax-like, solid texture and yet at the same time, felt mild, lightweight and non-greasy on the skin. It spreads evenly across the face without melting down, which was a pleasant surprise as most balm cleansers dissolve quickly upon contact with the skin.

Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner Review

Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner is suitable for normal, oily, combination and sensitive skin types, and contains hyaluronic acid, Phyto-oligo and wheat amino-acids to hydrate and restore skin pH balance. I would only recommend this if you have dry or normal skin types, or if you are tiding over for autumn and winter. If you have dehydrated or a combination sensitive skin type prone to acne and prefers a more watery, refreshing feel for toners, there are many better options out there.

Innis Free Green Persimmon Pore Toner Review

At the start, it was a pleasure to use due to the refreshing citrusy scent! Also, I love how smooth and matt it leaves my skin. However, there was not much pore tightening effects to be seen even after a few weeks, and the oil control effect might not be sufficient for oily skin types.
