[Review] Touch in SOL NO POREBLEM Primer Top Secret or Nay?

Touch in Sol No Poreblem Primer has been marketed as a Korean celebrity top kept secret for creating a poreless, blemish-free complexion. It is touted to have green tea extracts that create a protective skin barrier and infused with collagen to keep hydration in the skin to give a flawless, dewy glow. Having struggled with acne and large pores my entire life, I am always on the lookout for the Holy Grail primer for my foundations.  Here’s the Touch in SOL NO POREBLEM complete ingredients list:

Cyclopentasiloxane, Water, Dimethicone, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone, Crosspolymer, PEG-10 Dimethicone, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Dipropylene Glycol, Silica, Phenoxyethanol, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Magnesium Sulfate, Fragance(Parfum), Methyl Methacrylate Crosspolymer, Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Ethylhexylglycerin, Disodium EDTA, Aluminum Hydroxide, Stearic Acid, Butylene Glycol, Iron Oxides (CI 77491), Soluble Collagen, Red 30 Lake (CI 73360), Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Triethoxycaprylylsilane.

To be honest, I did not like the huge number of silicon-based polymers here, as it tends to clog pores easily. Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethicone and Red 30 Lake pigments are all examples of potential acne inducing components. Nevertheless, I decided to give it a try due to the rave reviews online.

How to Use

The Touch in SOL NO POREBLEM primer came in a fuss-free glass bottle that gives a good amount upon each pump. As the first step of your makeup routine, pump out a small amount and spread a thin layer across your entire face. The primer is a light pink tone and has a strong artificial floral scent. The primer dispenses into a solid gel form that may feel oily for first time application, but quickly spreads out into a velvety matt finish. Below are the before and after photos of application.

Before and After application ( Top to Bottom)

As you can see, the Touch in Sol No Poreblem Primer barely covered up the large pores on my nose. While the primer had a smooth finish, ironically, the transparency and barely-there hand feel made it hard to tell if you got all areas of the face covered. The result was patches of foundation that needs reapplication, and even then, the powder foundation did not stick on well and slid off over the next couple of hours. It was almost as if I did not wear primer, and overall just a huge disappointment. Added an extra layer of pore concealer before using this primer, which slightly improves the function but not miraculous. A total gimmicky product that I would not recommend to anyone. Highly recommend you look at SOFINA Primavista Long Keep UV Base UV or CEZANNE Make Keep Base for serious makeup staying power and pore coverage.
