[Review] Benton Snail Bee High Content Essence

Do you know how much benefits snail mucin does for your skin? Similar to aloe vera which is well known for reducing inflammation, reducing scars and improving hydration, snail mucin is also packed full of proteins, glycolic acid, hyaluronic acid and anti-microbials to stimulate collagen and elastin production to help repair damaged tissues to give clearer, brighter and smoother skin.

When I saw Benton Snail Bee High Content Essence, I was intrigued. Now, on top of such a multitasker, the revolutionary addition of Bee venom in concentrated dosage? I had to try it. I have been enamoured with eating Manuka Honey UMF15+ for a couple months now and it does wonders for glowing skin and a healthy digestive system. Bee venom sounds scary but is in fact, considered a natural anti-aging agent that stimulates the production of collagen by improving blood circulation, plumping up the skin and thus reducing the formation of fine lines and wrinkles. Doesn’t that just sound like the alternative to Botox?!

A look at the Benton website reveals no fluffy pitches and it simply states that Benton Snail Bee High Content Essence improves skin barrier protection and deliver vital nutrients to keep the skin hydrated, smooth and soft. Coming in a fuss-free 60ml pump bottle, I am using the newly formulated Gen 2 essence with the ingredients below:

Ingredients:

Aqua(Water), Snail Secretion Filtrate, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Niacinamide, 1,2-Hexanediol, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, sh-Oligopeptide-1, Bee Venom, Plantago Asiatica Extract, Laminaria Digitata Extract, Diospyros Kaki Leaf Extract, Salix Alba (Willow) Bark Extract,Ulmus Campestris (Elm) Bark Extract, Althaea Rosea Root Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Beta-Glucan, Betaine,Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Adenosine, Panthenol, Allantoin, Pentylene Glycol, Zanthoxylum Piperitum Fruit Extract, Pulsatilla Koreana Extract, Usnea Barbata (Lichen) Extract, Polysorbate 20, Lecithin, Arginine

On top of key star players mentioned above, Benton also added in aloe leaf juice and hollyhock roots which further provide hydration, locking in moisture to keep skin young and radiant. The Bee venom also tricks the skin into thinking it got “stung” and induces an extra surge of collagen production.

Directions

After cleansing and toning, I apply a single and half pump of this essence to the entire face. The texture is actually more of a very light gel than an essence, since the latter are usually watery and diffuse. There is barely any scent or colour since it is formulated free of chemical fragrance and colouring. Upon application, it felt cool, refreshing and extremely lightweight on the skin. Patting lightly boosts the absorption almost instantly to leave a hydrated and dewy complexion with a baby soft touch. Furthermore, it seems to soothe the red acne spots on my skin, making them less obvious. Oh boy, am I sold!

Suspicious if this was one of those products that work miraculously well on the first few days for its effects to disappear into nothingness a few days after, I used it religiously for a month before writing this review. Here I can proudly vouch that not only did it do what it did in the first couple of days, but also, in the following weeks, improved my complexion drastically. Due to its rich hydrating properties, my oily T-zone is now much controlled and I barely break out in sebum at work until late afternoon. Furthermore, the crater large pores on my cheeks seemed to have shrank half in size and are now much less obvious. My skin texture is now much more refined, supple, smooth and plump with lesser outbreaks. Not sure if it is due to the collagen, but a side effect observed was also fairer and a more even skin tone. All these improvements at this price? It’s a miracle!

I am 100% sold on this product, plus a small bottle goes a long way for the effects it generate! I would definitely repurchase this and add this to my HG product list. Highly recommend you guys to check it out here if you have not.
